The South West Kerala Tour covers six nights into a seventh day.

The Kerala Tour offers unique small group package holidays to explore the contrasting landscape and lifestyles of the people of Kerala in South West India. This Kerala tour is available from July 15th to March 8th avoiding the monsoon period. The Kerala Tour normally begins at Trivandrum, with two days at Kovalam Beach or if you choose, visiting local places of interest which can normally be arranged by your hotel tourist desk.

On Day Three of the Keral Tour, our courier joins you and accompanies you for lunch in Trivandrum by air-conditioned minibus then on to Asthamudi Resort for an overnight stay by the exotic tropical lagoon.

Day Four of the Kerala Tour brings a coastal drive to Alleppey Prince Hotel for lunch and a chance for a leisurely swim or relaxation by the hotel pool before driving on to overnight at Willingdon Hotel, near Fort Cochin.

Day Five of the Kerala Tour takes you into Fort Cochin to see the Chinese fishing nets, the Dutch Palace, St. Xavier’s Church, the Jewish Synagogue: then along Jew Street to enjoy the pungent smells of ginger, turmeric and pepper of the spice trade. After lunch at the waterside, palm thatched fish restaurant, our journey continues to Alleppey for the 3 hour backwater cruise and overnight stay at Kottayam.

Day Six of the Kerala Tour you take the drive up and into the stunning hill country, past rubber estates and spice gardens to tea estates and finally the Periyar Wild Life Reserve. After a pleasant local lunch, it is time to enjoy the 2 hour boat trip to see the elephants, bison, wild dogs, deer, otters, wild boar etc that come to drink or bathe at the lake. Dinner is normally buffet style at the high class Taj Spice Garden Hotel.

On Day Seven of the Kerala Tour you leave after breakfast for the morning drive down the Eastern flank of the Western ghats and onto the great South Indian Plain, where the real India of bazaars, rice harvesting, oxen ploughing are still part of the traditional way of life. And so to Lakeside Guest House for another India.

The Kerala Tour is normally by air–conditioned minibus. The tour can be tailor-made or taken in reverse order.
