Visas
Visas are essential and forms can now be downloaded from the internet with all the latest information: http://www.hcilondon.org/VisaForm.pdf. Do take note of payment details. Personal Cheques are not accepted. We can also put you in touch with an agent willing to handle your application – and recommend this service.
Medical
We advise you to contact your own doctor for your medical needs such as vaccinations.
Insurance
We offer a very competitive travel insurance. An application form will be posted to you once your deposit has been received.
Money and Plastic Cards
Cash points in India are on the increase. Currently cash points available in all cities. Some shops also accept them. Most hotels will change currency & travellers cheques (dollar or sterling). Rupees not available outside of India.
Safe Deposit Boxes
Please make use of them at your hotel and also at the Lakeside Guest House.Don’t Delay
Because we normally limit our tours to 10 persons we recommend that you contact us as soon as possible to secure your place. Flights around the Christmas period also need to be booked as much as six months in advance to avoid disappointment.
Tipping
This is normally taken care of by your courier but the person who carries your suitcase to your room will expect say 10 or 20 rupees for example.
What to wear
Normal light summer clothing with a cardigan for cool evenings. Although there is no fast rule covered shoulders are advisable for the ladies.
What to bring
Binoculars and a camera give an extra dimension to your holiday.
About the tours
We select our hotels with care taking into consideration the service and restaurant facilities. We also reserve the right to change our programme but will keep you informed of any changes. The cost of each tour is fully inclusive offering 3 meals per day, and travel. Excluded are taxis to and from airports / railway stations.
