South India Tours Ltd is a family run English registered company founded in 2001. Our holidays in India are administered by our Indian company, South India Motels and Resorts Pvt. Ltd. South India Tours began by offering holidays at Lakeside; tours of Tamil Nadu and Kerala were soon added to the rural holidays and these have been modified over the years to provide holiday makers with a unique experience of the 'real' India.

As far as we know we are the only British tour company offering holidays in South India where you will meet the owners at your holiday destination, and so we are perfectly placed to make sure that your holiday meets your expectations.

When you arrive in India you will be met by your courier who will accompany you throughout your tour. All of our tours stop at Lakeside where you will be served by our staff who all live locally, offering you a comfortable base from which to explore life in Tamil Nadu. We will help you to discover rural southern India away from the crowded tourist routes; or you can venture into a typical large Indian town to experience the hustle and bustle of everyday life for Indian people today, then return to the comfort of Lakeside at the end of the day for quality food and enjoyable company in serene surroundings.

We first discovered Lakeside on a visit to some children we sponsored in a local Boys Town, a project which helps poor children to get an education. After moving to Lakeside we continue to sponsor 'our' boy who is developing into a fine young man, but are also seeking other worthy causes to support within our local community.

Wherever possible Lakeside uses tourism to support the local community, buying food from local sources, employing local contractors and staff, and supporting local businesses. During your time at Lakeside we will listen to what you would like to experience in India and do all that we can to provide that for you. If you enjoy horseriding then maybe you would like to join Dorinda on a local ride; or maybe you would prefer to accompany Pete to Kodaikanal for a game of golf (proof of handicap required).
